Studio 29 is a design-led event space in Cairns, offering a considered setting for exhibitions, launches and private events.

Located on Sheridan Street, the studio operates as both a curated showroom and a flexible gallery environment, where materials, finishes and design thinking sit alongside art, conversation and community.


Every detail has been carefully resolved to create an atmosphere that feels both professional and welcoming, with a strong focus on creativity and collaboration.


Studio 29 is suited to intimate, design-led events, with a scale and atmosphere that lends itself to exhibitions, gallery showings, product launches and private gatherings. It offers an alternative to traditional venues, with a setting that feels intentional, refined and connected to the creative process.

Event space

  • Approximately 300m² of flexible floor area, accommodating up to 100 guests standing or 50 seated
  • Two unisex bathrooms, plus shower and basin
  • Kitchenette in main event space for light catering
  • Front, side and rear access points support event setup and deliveries
  • Natural, adjustable and gallery lighting allows the space to shift throughout the day
  • Integrated ceiling audio throughout
  • The studio is not currently wheelchair accessible

An exhibition by Alison Nampitjinpa Anderson, presented in collaboration with Short St. Gallery. The exhibition brought together a series of works exploring women’s law, cultural traditions and connection to Country, expressed through Anderson’s distinctive visual language and painting practice.

We Are Wati: Desert Men

A group exhibition presented by Short St. Gallery, featuring works by leading Aboriginal artists including John (Prince) Siddon, Fabian Brown, Mervyn Street, Lennard Walker, Simon Hogan and Daniel Walbidi. The exhibition explored the diversity of men’s cultural expression across desert communities, with works reflecting storytelling, materiality and the significance of men’s law.
