Initial consultation and design brief
We begin by understanding your goals, lifestyle, site conditions, and budget. This forms a clear brief that guides the direction of the project.
Concept design
Design ideas are explored through preliminary plans and layouts, with a strong focus on collaboration and refinement. This stage allows options to be tested and the overall direction to be resolved before moving forward.
Design development
The preferred concept is developed in detail, incorporating feedback and coordinating with builders or consultants where required. Materials, finishes, and key elements begin to take shape.
Documentation and detailing
A comprehensive set of drawings and schedules is prepared to support pricing, approvals, and construction. This includes plans, elevations, sections, cabinetry details, finishes schedules, and visual renderings.
Approvals and construction support
Documentation is issued for builder pricing and submitted to the relevant certifier for approval. We continue to work alongside your builder and consultants to ensure the design is carried through as intended.
The showroom
Located in the heart of Cairns, the Studio 29 showroom is a working design space where materials, finishes, and ideas come together during the design process.
Rather than selecting from samples in isolation, clients are able to view and compare materials in context, making it easier to understand how different elements will work together. This supports clearer decision-making and helps avoid costly changes later in the project.
The showroom also provides a space to review design concepts, finishes, and documentation in a more considered and hands-on way.
Beyond the design process, Studio 29 also serves as an intimate event space for art, exhibitions and private functions.
